The Emergency Alert Advertising Foundation was founded in 2023 by former first responders and ad-tech experts after the severe wildfires in British Columbia prompted unprescedented evacuation alerts.
After hearing countless individuals complaining about not receiving typical broadcast Emergency Alerts, we started looking into alternative methods of reaching Canadian citizens.
The Emergency Alert Advertising Foundation means to complement the existing Emergency Broadcast System by reaching Canadian users through digital ad spaces when there are emergencies local to their region.
These direct publisher relationships ensure that alerts are sent immediately to publishers from government agencies without relying on programmatic advertising channels.

Founded in September of 2023, the Emergency Alert Advertising Foundation is managed by a volunteer board of directors.
